Notes |
Used by Dr J. K. (James Kenneth) McGregor during his time at Wingham Hospital. The bag holds 24 different instruments that were unique to Dr McGregor. Before mass-produced surgical instruments, doctors would imagine their own tools and then take these ideas to a medical engineer. The medical engineer would then create the tool, making each surgeon's kit unique. Dr McGregor moved to Wingham in 1967 with his wife and five kids, and opened his own practice in Brussels. He also worked at the Wingham Hospital and as a coroner for 32 years under the Province of Ontario. |
