A round bronze British Empire Service League (Legion) pin. This is a pin issued to members of The Canadian Legion of the British Empire Service League, which later became the Royal Canadian Legion. Part of a collection of medals belonging to Sgt. James Hilton Currie. He enlisted on January 4, 1916 at age 19 to the 161st "Huron" Canadian Infantry Battalion. Between 1917 to 1919 her served in the 4th Canadian Machine Gun Battalion as a Machine Gunner. He was a charter member of the Wingham Royal Canadian Legion Branch 180, 1931. |
