Notes |
The briefcase belonged to Mrs. Edna (Webb) Reynolds (1894 - 1958), wife of the jail's Governor Reynolds. She looked after the Gaol once James Bernard Reynolds passed away. See The Clinton News Record 1939-02-16, pg 5 for an account of the presentation for years of service as a court report and special examiner of "a beautifully fitted travelling case." Includes text of the resolution from the Law Society: "Be it resolved that, in view of the long and faithful service which has been rendered to the profession of this county by Edna Reynolds as special examiner and court reporter for a period of twenty-eight years, this society desires to place on record its appreciation of her kindly and efficient services during that long period, and acknowledge our gratitude for the unfailing courtesy she has always extended to all our members." |
